The Forensic Speech Contest Scheduler (FSCS) was developed for the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association (WHSFA) for use by contest managers.  The software streamlines and simplifies the process of setting up a speech contest.  FSCS is a rules based scheduler that requires:

  • PC running XP, Vista or Windows 7

  • Microsoft Access 2003 or 2007

  • CD drive (the software is distributed on CD)

The software collects a minimum of information and processes it to produce a contest schedule and various reports needed to run the contest.

The rules incorporated into this software are as follows:

  • Entries are scheduled to present once in each of three rounds

  • Entries present to three different judges

  • Entries never present to a judge from their school

  • Presentations are group by categories

The process for running the software is as follows:

Step 1 – Enter all the categories that presentations will be assign to

Step 2 – Enter all the Schools that will be registering entries

Step 3 – Enter all the contest data, which includes:

·        Dates and times

·        Cost & fees used for invoicing

·        Contest address

Step 4 – School registration

Step 5 – Run the scheduler

Step 6 - Send Entry and Judges Schedules as well as invoices to schools

Step 7 – Print documents needed for contest.
